As the winter solstice approaches on the South Coast of South Africa, the coastal air carries a crisp charm — and at The Laughing Forest Wedding Venue, that magic sets the stage for a beautiful celebration, in the bush on the beach

Today, we are thrilled to host the wedding of Mareché and Kyle Rajbally.

This morning, while putting the final touches on the wedding terrace chapel, we were treated to an extraordinary sight: a pod of dolphins performing their shoal-herding display right in front of the beach resort. It's moments like these — the annual sardine run and its ocean spectacles — that make this coastline here on the South Coast of KZN so uniquely special, at this time of year.

Last night, Kyle and his parents had a peaceful winter evening at this South Coast venue, which also has accommodation, gathered around the firepit, exchanging stories, laughter, and finalizing preparations for the upcoming event.

The ceremony will be officiated by Father Vincent, with photography beautifully captured by Black Diamond Photography. As the sun sets, DJ Dollar will keep the dance floor alive, and the wedding cake — a masterpiece by Carol from Cake Elegancze — will take centre stage. Décor supplied by Claudine from Magical Events, Port Shepstone, adds the finishing touch to a special day.  

Our talented chef Menzi Ngubo, who manages all our in-house catering, will be serving the dishes thoughtfully selected by the couple, while venue owner and wedding co-ordinator Debbie will ensure that every detail is flawlessly in place.

It's a tremendous privilege for all of us at @laughingforestweddingvenue to be part of Mareché and Kyle’s special day. Beyond just a venue, we see each wedding as a platform to showcase local talent, support small businesses, and create meaningful work for the incredible team we are lucky to work with.
