Matthew and Emmi, both from Europe, chose the Laughing Forest as the destination for one of the most special days of their lives.
We are grateful for every celebration hosted here but today was especially meaningful — welcoming a beautifully diverse gathering of people from around the world and sharing our humble KZN hospitality in every way we can.
The weather delivered a true December South Coast experience: hot and humid, softened by a cooling ocean breeze. Gentle waves rolled in, creating a calming rhythm beneath the chorus of forest birds.
Originally planned as a beach ceremony, a last-minute change moved the vows to the terraces above the shoreline, offering a breathtaking bird’s-eye view over the Indian Ocean, framed by a softly overcast sky.
Bloemdozi was behind the bar, keeping guests refreshed throughout the celebration, while Menzi, our highly rated chef, had the carefully curated menu perfectly under control. Steven from DJ Phat George ensured the dance floor stayed alive.
Once again, Debbie from the Laughing Forest worked her magic with both décor and flowers — and expertly co-ordinated the entire wedding, including accommodation for around 30 guests on the property.
As Emmi and Matthew tied the knot during our solstice period — when we turn toward winter while Europe moves into summer — we hope this union marks a lasting celebration of renewal.
We wish them a journey filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments as they begin their new journey together forever.
